Colorado Multiple DUI Attorneys
Assisting Accused Drivers Across the State
At Jorgensen, Brownell & Pepin, P.C., our Colorado multiple DUI defense lawyers defend drivers who are facing multiple or consecutive driving under the influence (DUI) charges. The criminal and civil penalties for DUI and DWAI charges that are the second, third, fourth, and so on become more severe as they escalate. For a second DWAI or DUI, jail time can range from 10 days to 1 year, fines can range from $600 to $1,500, and the convicted driver may have to perform between 48 and 120 hours of public service.
For a third (or more) DUI or DWAI:
- Jail time ranges from 60 days to 1 year
- Fines range from $600 to $1,500
- Community service ranges from 48 to 120 hours
As it can be seen with just these quick examples, Colorado does not hesitate to heavily penalize drivers who are arrested more than once for a DUI. Even if no one is ever hurt due to your intoxicated driving, you will be treated as if you have committed a severe crime if you have other DUI marks on your record. To protect your rights and your driving privilege, come to Jorgensen, Brownell & Pepin, P.C. We represent accused drivers in all corners of Colorado.
Administrative Penalties for Subsequent DUIs
The administrative penalties for a second or third DUI, DWAI, or breath test resulting in a BAC of at least 0.08 are imposed in addition to criminal penalties. A driver's license will be suspended for 12 months if they have a second BAC test of at least 0.08. A third (or more) test of at least 0.08 will result in the driver's license being suspended for 24 months.
If a driver is convicted of a second DUI or DWAI, the driver's license will be suspended for 12 months. In addition, for a second DUI, 12 points will added to the driver's driving record. For a second DWAI, 8 points will be added to the driver's driving record.
If a driver is convicted of a third DUI or DWAI, the driver's license will be suspended for 24 months. In addition, for a third DUI, 12 points will added to the driver's driving record. For a third DWAI, 8 points will be added to the driver's driving record.

I would like to give a big thank you to Matthew Crowther and his paralegal, Nicolas Allen, for doing a great job on my case. They settled for more than I expected and were always available when I had questions. I would highly recommend them and would go back to them if needed. Thank you again.
