Real Estate Law
I help people in real estate law generally from start to finish. By that, I meant that I do a lot of contract work, and I assist people who are selling their house “for sale by owner” or who are selling their homes without real estate counsel and real estate professionals helping them. I maintain both my legal license and a real estate license, so I have broker’s license in real estate. I do that so that I can teach classes both in the legal side and the real estate side. Attorneys need to have litigation experience so they can accurately advise clients. It’s more than just the idea that you have a claim. If a person comes to me on a purchase sale contract, I can go through that contract rather efficiently because I do have the real estate background and point out to them where areas of problems can develop and assist them to see what things are actually important versus those things that are apparently important.
