On September 23, 2017, attorneys from Jorgensen, Brownell & Pepin, P.C. participated in Boulder County Senior Law Day. This one-day event provides education and legal resources to seniors and those who care about them. The event included presentations on topics relevant to seniors and caregivers, and also included an “Ask-an-Attorney” panel where participants could get answers to their legal questions from qualified attorneys at no cost.
Managing shareholder Anne B. Jorgensen delivered a presentation called “Serving as a Fiduciary, Medical or Financial Agent: Roles, Responsibilities, Pitfalls.” The presentation went over the duties of fiduciaries such as agents under powers of attorney, trustees, and court-appointed guardians and conservators. The presentation then looked at brief case studies analyzing pitfalls that the elder law department at Jorgensen, Brownell & Pepin, P.C. sees on a regular basis. If you wish to view the presentation you can download the entire PowerPoint file here.
This event was in keeping with the firm’s commitment to serving the community. Jorgensen, Brownell & Pepin, P.C. has participated in Larimer County’s Senior Law Day and regularly sends attorneys to volunteer at Weld County’s Ask-an-Attorney. The firm hopes to participate in many more senior law day events in 2018.
