Classes of Felonies and Misdemeanors in Colorado

There are three classes of misdemeanors and six classes of felonies in Colorado. Each come with differing amounts of possible prison/jail time and fines.

Misdemeanors in Colorado:

Class 1 Misdemeanor - Six to eight months possible jail sentence and $500 - $5,000 in possible fines.

Class 2 Misdemeanor - Three to twelve months possible jail sentence and $500 - $5,000 in possible fines.

Class 3 Misdemeanor - Up to six months possible jail sentence and $500 - $5,000 in possible fines.

Felonies in Colorado:

Class 1 Felony - Life in prison and fines not applicable.

Class 2 Felony - Eight to 24 years in prison, and $5,000 - $1000,000 in possible fines.

Class 3 Felony - Four to 12 years in prison, and $3,000 - $750,000 in possible fines.

Class 4 Felony - Two to six years in prison, and $2,000 - $500,000 in possible fines.

Class 5 Felony - One to three years in prison and $1,000 - $100,000 in possible fines.

Class 6 Felony - One year to 18 months in prison and $1,000 - $100, 000 in possible fines.
